How to Cancel Zip (formerly QuadPay) in 2026
Last updated: February 2026 • Difficulty: Easy • Cost: No monthly fee (pay-per-purchase)
How Zip/QuadPay Works
Zip (rebranded from QuadPay) splits purchases into 4 interest-free payments over 6 weeks. There's no monthly subscription fee — you only pay when you make a purchase. However, late fees are $7 per missed payment (up to $14 total per order), which can add up quickly if you have multiple orders.
Step 1: Pay Off All Orders
- Open the Zip app
- Go to Orders to see all active installment plans
- Pay off remaining installments — you can pay early without penalty
- Wait for all orders to show as Paid
Step 2: Close Your Account
- Open the Zip app
- Go to Settings (gear icon)
- Tap Account
- Scroll down to Close account
- Confirm closure
If the close option doesn't appear in the app, email support@zip.co requesting account closure.
Remove Zip Anywhere Virtual Card
Zip Anywhere is a virtual card that works at any online store (not just Zip partners). If you added this to Apple Pay, Google Pay, or saved it in browsers:
- Remove the Zip virtual card from Apple Wallet or Google Pay
- Delete saved payment methods from Chrome/Safari autofill
- Remove from any retailer accounts where you saved it
Leaving the virtual card saved makes it too easy to make impulse purchases. Remove it everywhere.
The BNPL Debt Trap
Buy-now-pay-later services like Zip feel harmless individually, but the real problem is having multiple BNPL services running simultaneously. If you have active plans on Zip, Afterpay, Klarna, and Affirm, you could have 10-15 installment payments hitting your account every month. Check all of them:

- Afterpay
- Klarna
- Affirm
