Warby Parker disrupted glasses pricing — and then launched a contacts subscription (Scout by Warby Parker) that's actually more expensive than most alternatives. Their daily contact lenses run $33-60/month depending on your prescription, while competitors sell comparable lenses for $20-36/month. The brand premium doesn't mean premium lenses.
If you can't cancel online, contact help@warbyparker.com or call 1-888-492-7297. Warby Parker generally makes cancellation straightforward — they're one of the better DTC brands about this.
Most vision insurance plans (VSP, EyeMed, Davis Vision) include an annual contact lens allowance of $130-200. Many people forget to use this benefit or don't realize it applies to online purchases. Before reordering from any subscription:
Under the FTC Contact Lens Rule, your eye doctor must give you a copy of your prescription — and you can fill it anywhere. You are not obligated to buy contacts from your doctor, from Warby Parker, or from any specific retailer. Your prescription is yours, and it's valid for at least one year (two years in some states).
Warby Parker's contacts subscription does have some advantages: convenient auto-delivery, responsive customer service, and their in-store eye exams are competitively priced. If you value the convenience and aren't price-sensitive about an extra $10-20/month, it's a fine product. But if you're looking to cut costs, contacts are one of the easiest subscriptions to optimize.
