How to Cancel Vultr Cloud Hosting (2026 Guide)

Updated February 2026 · Delete ALL resources before closing

⚠️ Critical: Vultr charges hourly. "Not logging in" doesn't stop billing. You must destroy every server instance, snapshot, block storage volume, and load balancer to stop charges.

Step 1: Back Up Your Data

Step 2: Destroy ALL Resources

  1. Log in to my.vultr.com
  2. Compute: Destroy all server instances
  3. Block Storage: Delete all volumes
  4. Snapshots: Delete snapshots (these cost $0.05/GB/month)
  5. Load Balancers: Delete any active LBs
  6. Object Storage: Empty and delete buckets
  7. Kubernetes: Delete VKE clusters
  8. Reserved IPs: Release any reserved IPs ($3/month each)
  9. Verify dashboard shows $0.00 pending charges

Step 3: Close Your Account

  1. Go to Account → Make a Support Ticket
  2. Request account closure
  3. Or email support@vultr.com with your account email and closure request
  4. Any remaining balance will be charged to your card on file

Refund on Account Credit

If you pre-loaded credit via crypto or credit card, Vultr may not refund unused account credit. Contact support and ask — policies vary.
