How to Cancel Uber One Membership (2026 Guide)
Updated February 2026 · Check if you're actually saving money first
The math: Uber One costs $9.99/month. You save ~$2-3 per delivery (free delivery on $15+ orders) and 5% off rides. You need 4-5+ Uber Eats orders/month just to break even. If you're ordering less than once a week, you're losing money.

Uber One Through a Partner? Cancel There
Some people get Uber One bundled through:
- American Express cards: Complimentary Uber One with Platinum and some Gold cards — manage through Amex benefits
- Capital One: Some cards include Uber credits that activate Uber One
- Postmates: Former Postmates Unlimited members were migrated to Uber One
If your Uber One is bundled with a credit card benefit, you may not be paying for it separately. Check your Uber account to see the billing source before cancelling.
Getting a Refund
- Uber One does NOT prorate refunds — you keep access until the end of your billing period
- If you were charged and want a refund for the current period, contact Uber support through the app (Help → Uber One → Billing Issue)
- First-time cancellers sometimes get a refund if they ask — especially if they haven't used the benefits this cycle
Watch Out for the "Free Trial" Trap
Uber aggressively promotes 1-month free Uber One trials. If you signed up for a trial and forgot about it, you're now paying $9.99/month. Check your bank statement for "UBER ONE" or "UBER *ONE" charges.
Is Uber One Worth It? The Honest Math
Break-even analysis:
- Average delivery fee saved: ~$2-3 per order
- Monthly cost: $9.99
- Break-even: ~4-5 Uber Eats orders/month
- For rides only (5% savings): need ~$200/month in rides to save $10
Most people overestimate how much they use Uber. Check your order history: Uber app → Account → Order History. Count last month's orders. If it's under 4, cancel.
Alternatives
- DashPass ($9.99/mo): Same concept for DoorDash — compare which you use more
- No membership: Just pay per-order delivery fees — often cheaper unless you order 4+ times/month
- Restaurant pickup: Skip delivery entirely — most restaurants offer online ordering for pickup at no extra charge
- Cooking: Average Uber Eats order is $25-35. That's $100-140/month on 4 orders. Meal prep saves dramatically more than any membership discount.
