How to Cancel TikTok Ads & Close Your Ad Account in 2026
Last updated: February 2026 • Difficulty: Easy • Cost: Pay-per-result ($20-50/day minimum)
Step 1: Pause All Campaigns
- Go to TikTok Ads Manager
- Go to Campaign tab
- Select all active campaigns
- Click Pause (or toggle each one off)
- Also check Ad Groups and Ads tabs for any active items
Pausing stops new spend immediately, but you may still be charged for impressions/clicks that were already delivered. Wait 24-48 hours for all pending charges to settle before withdrawing your balance.
Step 2: Withdraw Your Balance
- In Ads Manager, go to Billing → Balance
- Click Withdraw or Request Refund
- Select your refund method (original payment method)
- Submit the request — processing takes 5-15 business days
If the self-service withdrawal option isn't available, contact TikTok Ads support directly. Promotional credits (bonus ad spend) are non-refundable — only actual money you deposited can be withdrawn.
Step 3: Close Your Ad Account
- Go to Account Settings in Ads Manager
- Scroll to Account Info
- Look for Close Account or Deactivate
- If not available, contact TikTok Ads support to request closure
Remove Auto-Refill
If you set up automatic balance top-ups, disable this immediately:
- Go to Billing → Payment Methods
- Turn off Auto-refill
- Remove your credit card or payment method entirely for safety
Note: Your TikTok Account Is Separate
Closing your TikTok Ads account does NOT affect your personal TikTok profile. Your videos, followers, and regular account remain untouched. The Ads Manager is a separate business tool.
