How to Cancel TIDAL in 2026 (HiFi, HiFi Plus & Family Plans)
Updated February 2026 · 4 min read
TIDAL charges $10.99/month for HiFi or $19.99/month for HiFi Plus. If you're not using the lossless audio quality that justifies the premium, you're overpaying compared to Spotify or Apple Music. Cancellation takes about 60 seconds — but the method depends on how you subscribed.
Cancel on TIDAL.com (Direct Subscribers)
- Go to account.tidal.com/subscription
- Sign in to your account
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Confirm — you keep access until your billing period ends
Cancel via Apple (iPhone/iPad)
- Open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions
- Find TIDAL
- Tap Cancel Subscription
Cancel via Google Play (Android)
- Open Google Play Store
- Tap profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
- Find TIDAL → Cancel subscription
Cancel Carrier Billing (Sprint/T-Mobile)
If TIDAL was bundled with your Sprint/T-Mobile plan, you need to cancel through your carrier — not TIDAL directly. Call T-Mobile at 1-800-937-8997 or manage your add-ons in the T-Mobile app under Account → Add-Ons. Some legacy Sprint plans included TIDAL for free — check whether you're actually paying before cancelling.
⚠️ Don't know how you subscribed? Check your email for "TIDAL" receipts. If they come from Apple or Google, cancel through that platform. If from TIDAL directly, use account.tidal.com. If you see it on your phone bill, cancel through your carrier.
Is TIDAL HiFi Plus Worth Keeping?
TIDAL's main selling point is lossless and spatial audio. Here's the honest assessment:
- Worth it if: You have high-end headphones/speakers, care about audio quality, and can actually hear the difference
- Not worth it if: You listen through AirPods, car speakers, or laptop speakers — the quality difference is inaudible on consumer hardware
- Apple Music alternative: Apple Music now includes lossless and spatial audio at $10.99/month (same as TIDAL HiFi) with a much larger library
- Spotify: Still doesn't offer true lossless, but at $10.99/month, 99% of people can't tell the difference on normal equipment
What About Downloaded Music?
All downloaded TIDAL music becomes unplayable once your subscription ends. TIDAL uses DRM, so there's no way to keep offline tracks. If you have playlists you want to preserve, use a service like Soundiiz or TuneMyMusic to transfer playlists to Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube Music before cancelling.
