How to Cancel Subscriptions on Android (2026 Guide)
Android makes it easy to accumulate subscriptions — a free trial here, a premium upgrade there — but canceling them isn't always obvious. Here's how to find and cancel every subscription on your Android phone.
Method 1: Cancel Google Play subscriptions
This covers any subscription you purchased through an app on the Google Play Store.
- Open the Google Play Store app
- Tap your profile icon in the top right
- Tap Payments & subscriptions
- Tap Subscriptions
- Select the subscription you want to cancel
- Tap Cancel subscription
- Follow the prompts and confirm
Note: You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period. Deleting the app does NOT cancel the subscription — you must cancel through Google Play.
Method 2: Cancel via Google Play website
- Go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions
- Sign in with your Google account
- Find the subscription and click Cancel
This is useful if you no longer have the phone but still have the Google account.
What about subscriptions NOT through Google Play?
Just like iPhone, many subscriptions bypass the app store entirely. If you signed up on a website — Netflix, Spotify, gym memberships, news sites — those won't appear in Google Play.
The only way to find ALL your subscriptions is to check your bank statement.
Method 3: Find every subscription with your bank statement
- Download your bank statement as CSV or PDF
- Upload it to Just Cancel
- See every recurring charge with cancel links and difficulty ratings

Common mistakes when canceling on Android
- Deleting the app doesn't cancel the subscription. This is the #1 mistake. You'll keep getting charged.
- Using the wrong Google account. If you have multiple Google accounts, the subscription might be under a different one. Check all of them.
- Forgetting about Samsung subscriptions. Samsung Galaxy phones may have subscriptions through the Galaxy Store (separate from Google Play). Check Galaxy Store → Menu → My page → Subscriptions.
How to get a refund
Google offers refunds within 48 hours of purchase for most subscriptions:
- Go to play.google.com/store/account
- Click Order History
- Find the charge and click Request a refund
After 48 hours, you'll need to contact the app developer directly. For subscriptions not through Google Play, contact the company or dispute the charge with your bank.
Bottom line
Google Play only shows you part of the picture. Most people have subscriptions across multiple platforms — Google Play, websites, other app stores. Just Cancel finds all of them by scanning your bank statement.
