Skillshare Premium costs $13.99/month or $167.88/year. It started as a creative learning platform but most of its popular content — illustration tutorials, photography, graphic design — is available free on YouTube from the same instructors. Many Skillshare teachers also have YouTube channels where they share the same techniques. Here's how to cancel.
Popular Skillshare instructors like Peter McKinnon (photography), Brad Traversy (web dev), and Ali Abdaal (productivity) have free YouTube channels with similar or identical content. Skillshare's value proposition has eroded as YouTube's educational content has exploded.
Skillshare offers 7-day free trials through YouTube sponsorships and social media ads. These auto-convert to annual billing ($167.88) — not monthly. If you signed up for a "free trial" and forgot, you may have been charged the full annual amount. Check your bank statement for a ~$168 charge.
Skillshare offers refunds within 7 days of payment. If you were auto-billed for an annual plan after a free trial, contact help@skillshare.com immediately. Mention you didn't intend to convert from the trial. Apple/Google Play refund requests have higher success rates than going through Skillshare directly.
