How to Cancel Readwise in 2026 (The $8.99/Month Highlight Saver)
Updated February 2026 • 4 min read
Readwise charges $8.99/month (or $7.99/month annually). Readwise Reader (the read-later app) is bundled at $13.99/month. For a service that saves your Kindle highlights and sends daily review emails, that's a meaningful recurring cost. Here's how to cancel and keep your data.

When Readwise Is Worth Keeping
Readwise genuinely shines if you read 20+ books/year and want automatic highlight sync to Notion or Obsidian. The integration is seamless — highlights appear in your notes without any manual work. If you read 5 books/year, you can manually copy highlights in the time it takes to drink a coffee. The math: 20+ books/year = maybe worth $108/year. Under 10 books/year = manual export is fine.
Bottom line: Readwise is a well-made niche product. If you're a heavy reader who lives in Notion/Obsidian, it's genuine value. If you read casually, your Kindle highlights are already saved at read.amazon.com for free. Export, cancel, save $108-168/year.
