How to Cancel PayPal Recurring Payments & Subscriptions (2026)

Find All Your Recurring Payments

1. Go to paypal.com/myaccount/autopay
2. Log in to your PayPal account
3. You'll see a list of all pre-approved payments (active and inactive)
4. Review each one — you may find services you forgot about

Cancel a Specific Recurring Payment

1. On the autopay page, find the merchant/service
2. Click on it to see details
3. Click Cancel or Cancel automatic payments
4. Confirm — PayPal immediately blocks the merchant from charging you
5. You'll see the status change to "Cancelled"

Cancel in the PayPal App

1. Open the PayPal app
2. Tap the gear icon (Settings)
3. Tap Payments
4. Tap Manage automatic payments
5. Select the merchant and tap Cancel

Common Services Using PayPal Billing

These services commonly use PayPal as a payment method and may have active billing agreements:

What If You're Still Being Charged?

• Check that you cancelled the PayPal agreement (not just the service). Both need to be cancelled.
• Dispute the charge: PayPal → Resolution Center → Report a Problem → "Unauthorized charge"
• Remove funding sources: As a last resort, remove your bank account and cards from PayPal so nothing can be charged

Cancel Your PayPal Account Entirely

If you want to close PayPal completely:

1. Cancel ALL automatic payments first
2. Withdraw any PayPal balance to your bank
3. Go to Settings → Account → Close Account
4. Confirm — this is permanent
