How to Cancel Patreon Memberships in 2026 (Find All Your Active Pledges)

Like Substack, Patreon charges you per creator — and you might be supporting 3-5 creators you forgot about. Each pledge is a separate charge. Here's how to find and cancel them all.

Step 1: See All Your Active Memberships

1. Go to patreon.com/settings/memberships
2. Or: click your profile icon → Manage memberships
3. You'll see every creator you're currently supporting and the amount

Step 2: Cancel Individual Memberships

1. Click on the creator you want to stop supporting
2. Click Edit membership or Manage membership
3. Click Cancel membership
4. Select a reason
5. Confirm — you lose access to patron-only content immediately or at billing cycle end (depends on creator's settings)

What Happens When You Cancel

• Patron-only posts: You lose access (some creators let you keep access until billing period ends, others cut it immediately)
• Discord access: If the creator uses Patreon-linked Discord roles, your role is removed
• Physical rewards: If you cancel before the creator processes a physical reward, you won't receive it
• Your pledge history: Stays on your account — the creator can see you were a past patron

Add Up Your Total Patreon Spend

Patreon pledges add up fast because each feels small:

• 3 creators at $5/month = $180/year
• 5 creators at $3-10/month = $180-600/year
• Go to Settings → Billing to see your actual total monthly spend

Downgrade Instead of Cancel

Most creators offer multiple tiers. Before canceling entirely:

• Check if a lower tier ($1-2/month) gives you the content you actually use
• Many creators put most content at the lowest tier — higher tiers add Discord access, shoutouts, or physical merch you might not need
• Edit your membership to a lower tier instead of canceling

For Creators: Cancel Your Patreon Creator Account

If you're a creator who wants to leave Patreon:

1. Download your patron data (Settings → Billing → Export patron list)
2. Notify your patrons that you're leaving (give them a way to follow you elsewhere)
3. Delete all tiers or set them to $0
4. Go to Settings → Account → Delete page
5. Withdraw remaining balance before deletion
