How to Cancel Paramount+ (2026) — Including the Showtime Bundle
Updated February 2026 · 6 min read
⚠️ Paramount+ merged with Showtime, creating confusion. If you had a standalone Showtime subscription, you may now be paying for "Paramount+ with Showtime" at $12.99/month ($156/year) without realizing the switch.
Paramount+ (formerly CBS All Access) now includes Showtime content after the merger. But the branding transition left many subscribers confused about what they're paying for — especially those who had separate Paramount+ AND Showtime subscriptions. Time to audit and cancel.
💰 Current Plans
- Paramount+ Essential (with ads): $7.99/month ($96/year) or $59.99/year
- Paramount+ with Showtime (no ads): $12.99/month ($156/year) or $119.99/year
- Standalone Showtime (legacy): If you still have this, you're double-paying — it's now included in Paramount+ with Showtime
🚨 Double-pay check: Search your bank statement for both "PARAMOUNT" and "SHOWTIME." If you see both, you're paying for overlapping services. Cancel the standalone Showtime — it's now included in Paramount+ with Showtime.
How to Cancel
- Go to paramountplus.com and sign in
- Click your profile icon → "Account"
- Click "Cancel Subscription" under Your Subscription
- Walk through the cancellation screens (they'll offer discounts)
- Confirm and screenshot
Other billing platforms:
- Apple: Settings → Subscriptions → Paramount+ → Cancel
- Google Play: Play Store → Payments → Subscriptions → Cancel
- Amazon Prime Video Channel: Amazon → Memberships → Paramount+ Channel → Cancel
- Roku: Roku.com → Manage Subscriptions → Cancel
- Walmart+: Paramount+ Essential is included free — don't pay separately
💡 Walmart+ members: Paramount+ Essential (with ads) is included FREE with Walmart+ ($98/year). If you have Walmart+ and a separate Paramount+ subscription, cancel the separate one immediately — you're double-paying.
🏈 Sports-Only Strategy
Paramount+ has NFL, Champions League, and March Madness. If sports are your main reason:
- NFL (CBS games): Sept-Feb — subscribe seasonally, cancel in March
- March Madness: Subscribe in March, cancel in April
- Champions League: Group stage Oct-Dec, knockout Feb-June
- Most CBS games: Available free on the CBS Sports app or antenna
- Total cost (4 months/year): ~$32-52 vs $96-156/year
🔄 Free Alternatives
- CBS app (free): Recent episodes of CBS shows, next-day with ads
- Pluto TV (free): Owned by Paramount — many shows stream free here
- Antenna: CBS is a broadcast network — free in HD with a $20 antenna
- Tubi (free): Older Paramount movies often available
- Library (free): Many Paramount movies on DVD/Blu-ray or through Hoopla
