How to Cancel Ooma Phone Service (2026 Guide)

⚠️ Critical: If you cancel Ooma without porting your phone number first, you lose that number permanently. Start the port process with your new provider BEFORE cancelling Ooma.

Step 1: Port Your Number (Do This First)

Choose your new phone provider
Initiate a port-out request with the NEW provider
They'll need: your Ooma account number, name on account, and the phone number
The port typically takes 3-10 business days
Keep Ooma active until the port completes — cancelling early kills the port
Once the number is active on the new service, Ooma automatically releases it

Step 2: Cancel Ooma

Log in to my.ooma.com
Go to Account → Account Settings
Click Cancel Service or Close Account
Follow the prompts — they'll try to retain you with offers
Confirm cancellation

If the cancel option isn't visible online, call 1-888-711-6662 to cancel by phone.
