How to Cancel Notion Plus/Pro (2026 Guide)
Updated February 2026 · Free tier is surprisingly capable
Good news: Notion's free tier includes unlimited pages, unlimited blocks, and up to 10 guest collaborators. For personal use, you may not need to pay at all.
Pricing You're Escaping (2026)
- Free: Unlimited pages, 10 guests, 7-day page history, 5MB uploads
- Plus ($10/mo per user): Unlimited uploads, 30-day page history, unlimited guests
- Business ($18/mo per user): SAML SSO, advanced permissions, bulk PDF export
- Enterprise: Custom pricing — audit log, advanced security
- Notion AI add-on ($10/mo per user): AI writing assistant built into Notion
How to Cancel Notion Plus/Business
- Open notion.so and log in
- Click Settings & members in the left sidebar
- Click Plans (under Workspace settings)
- Click Downgrade to switch to the Free plan
- Notion will show what you'll lose — review and confirm
- Your workspace downgrades at the end of the billing period
Cancel Notion AI Separately
If you have the Notion AI add-on, it's a separate subscription:
- Settings & members → Plans
- Find the Notion AI section
- Click Manage AI plan → Cancel
Before You Cancel: Export Your Data
💡 Your data stays, but export as backup
Downgrading to Free doesn't delete your pages — they all remain. But file uploads over 5MB become inaccessible on Free. Export: Settings → Export all workspace content → Markdown & CSV or HTML.
What Changes on Free
- File uploads capped at 5MB: Existing large files stay but new ones are limited
- Page history drops to 7 days: Can't recover older versions
- Guest limit: 10: Extra guests lose access
- No bulk PDF export
- Your pages, databases, and content remain intact
Free Alternatives
- Notion Free: Just downgrade — most features still work
- Obsidian (free): Local-first markdown notes, massive plugin ecosystem, no cloud dependency
- Apple Notes: Surprisingly capable, syncs across Apple devices, free
- Google Docs/Keep: Free, collaborative, works everywhere
- Anytype (free): Open-source Notion alternative with local-first architecture
