How to Cancel MyLife (Reputation Scores) in 2026
Updated February 2026 โข Difficulty: Hard โข $10-35/month
๐จ MyLife has been sued by the FTC for deceptive practices. Their "reputation scores" are manufactured to create urgency and scare you into paying. The scores are not used by employers, landlords, or anyone else.
Cancel by Phone (Required)
- Call 1-888-704-1900
- Say: "I want to cancel my subscription immediately"
- They will try hard to keep you โ be firm and repeat your cancellation request
- Request a cancellation confirmation email
- Note the agent name, date, and time of the call
Remove Your Profile
After cancelling, you should also remove your personal information from their site:
- Search for yourself on mylife.com
- Find your profile listing
- Go to the bottom of your profile page and look for "Remove this listing"
- If you can't find it, email privacy@mylife.com requesting removal under CCPA/state privacy law
- Include your full name, the profile URL, and state "I request deletion of all my personal information"
The "Reputation Score" Scam
Here's how MyLife works:
- MyLife scrapes public records and creates a profile for you
- They assign you a low "reputation score" (designed to alarm you)
- They send emails saying "Someone searched for you!" (usually automated bots, not real people)
- You panic and sign up to "monitor" or "improve" your score
- The score never significantly improves regardless of what you pay
The FTC filed a complaint against MyLife in 2020 for using fake "reputation scores" and misleading "who's searching for you" notifications to sell subscriptions.
If They Won't Cancel
- Email backup: Send a cancellation request to support@mylife.com with your account details
- Credit card dispute: If they continue charging after cancellation, dispute with your bank
- BBB complaint: File at bbb.org โ MyLife responds to BBB complaints
- FTC complaint: File at ftc.gov/complaint if they won't honor your cancellation
๐ก Bottom line: MyLife's reputation scores are meaningless. No employer, landlord, or institution uses them. Your actual online reputation is your Google search results, LinkedIn profile, and social media โ all of which you can manage for free. Save $120-420/year.
