⚠️ Jerry Is a Broker, Not an Insurer

Jerry doesn't sell its own insurance — it's a broker/comparison app. When you use Jerry, they share your personal info (name, address, driving history, SSN) with multiple insurance carriers. Canceling your Jerry account does NOT cancel any insurance policy they placed for you. You must cancel the actual policy with the insurance carrier separately.

The Two Things You Need to Cancel

If Jerry helped you switch insurance, you have two separate cancellations:

Jerry app/account: Stops Jerry's notifications, calls, and texts
The actual insurance policy: Must be canceled directly with the carrier (Progressive, GEICO, National General, etc.) — Jerry can't cancel it for you

How to Cancel Your Jerry Account

Step 1: Delete the App + Account

Open the Jerry app
Go to Profile → Settings
Tap "Delete Account"
Confirm deletion
Delete the Jerry app from your phone

Step 2: Stop the Texts and Calls

Jerry is notorious for aggressive marketing. Even after deleting your account:

Reply STOP to any Jerry text messages
Block Jerry's phone numbers (they may call from multiple numbers)
Email support@getjerry.com demanding removal from all marketing lists
If texts continue after STOP, file a complaint at donotcall.gov — unwanted texts after opt-out violate the TCPA

Step 3: Request Data Deletion

Jerry collected sensitive personal information: your driver's license, VIN, SSN (in some cases), address, and driving history. Email support@getjerry.com requesting full data deletion under your state's privacy law (CCPA for California, VCDPA for Virginia, CPA for Colorado, etc.). Even without a specific state law, explicitly requesting deletion creates a paper trail.
