How to Cancel FanDuel & Close Your Account in 2026
Updated February 2026 • Difficulty: Easy
⚠️ Withdraw your balance BEFORE closing your account. Any remaining funds may be forfeited once the account is closed. Process withdrawals first and wait for them to clear.
Step 1: Withdraw Your Balance
- Log in at fanduel.com
- Go to Account → Withdraw
- Withdraw your entire balance
- Wait for the withdrawal to process (1-5 business days depending on method)
Step 2: Close Your Account
- Go to Account → Settings
- Scroll to Close Account
- Select a reason and confirm
- Your account will be deactivated
Self-Exclusion (If You Need Help)
If you're closing your account because of gambling concerns, FanDuel offers self-exclusion options:
- Temporary self-exclusion: 72 hours, 1 week, 1 month, or 6 months
- Permanent self-exclusion: Cannot be reversed — your account is permanently banned
- State self-exclusion: Contact your state gaming commission for a statewide ban across all platforms
🆘 National Problem Gambling Helpline: Call 1-800-522-4700 (24/7, free, confidential). Text or chat available at ncpgambling.org.
Also Check: DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars
If you're closing FanDuel, audit your other sportsbook accounts too. Many people have balances sitting in 3-4 apps. Close them all and consolidate:
- DraftKings — Account → Settings → Close Account
- BetMGM — Contact support to close
- Caesars Sportsbook — Contact support or use the app
The Hidden Cost of Sports Betting
FanDuel doesn't charge a subscription — they make money from the vig (juice) on every bet, typically 5-10% built into the odds. If you bet $100/week, you're losing an expected $5-10/week to the house edge, or $260-520/year in long-term expected losses, regardless of short-term wins.
💡 Tip: Closing your account is the only reliable way to stop. "I'll just set limits" rarely works long-term. If you're questioning whether to close, that's usually the answer.
