How to Cancel Disney+ (2026) — The Complete Bundle Escape Guide
Updated February 2026 · 7 min read
⚠️ Disney+ raised prices AGAIN in 2025. The ad-free plan is now $13.99/month ($168/year). The bundle with Hulu and ESPN+ is $24.99/month ($300/year). And the "basic" tier with ads still costs $7.99/month.
Disney+ launched at $6.99/month in 2019. It's now doubled in price. With fewer new Marvel/Star Wars shows and a growing content drought between releases, many subscribers are realizing they're paying for a back-catalog they've already watched. Here's how to cancel — on every billing platform.
💰 Current Pricing
- Disney+ Basic (with ads): $7.99/month ($96/year)
- Disney+ Premium (no ads): $13.99/month ($168/year) or $139.99/year
- Disney Bundle Duo (Disney+ & Hulu, with ads): $9.99/month
- Disney Bundle Trio (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, with ads): $14.99/month
- Disney Bundle Trio Premium (no ads): $24.99/month ($300/year)

⚠️ The Bundle Cancellation Trap
If you have the Disney Bundle (Disney+ + Hulu + ESPN+):
- Canceling Disney+ cancels the entire bundle — you lose Hulu and ESPN+ too
- If you want to keep Hulu, you must cancel the bundle then subscribe to Hulu separately
- Same for ESPN+ — resubscribe individually after canceling the bundle
- The math: Bundle Trio no-ads ($24.99) vs Hulu no-ads alone ($17.99) — canceling saves $7/month if you only use Hulu
🔄 The Binge-Cancel-Resubscribe Strategy
Disney+ releases content in waves. Smart subscribers do this:
- Subscribe for 1-2 months when new Marvel/Star Wars/Pixar drops
- Binge everything in that window
- Cancel and wait for the next batch
- Cost: 3-4 months/year × $13.99 = $42-56/year vs $168/year
- Savings: $112-126/year
🎬 What You Lose vs. What You Don't
❌ You LOSE:
- Access to all Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic content
- Downloaded content (expires immediately)
- GroupWatch and SharePlay features
- Your watchlist and continue watching history (saved for ~12 months if you resubscribe)
✅ You KEEP:
- Your account and profiles
- Purchase history (any movies you bought through Movies Anywhere)
- Disney+ movies purchased through iTunes/Google/Vudu are yours forever
✅ Cancellation Checklist
- ✅ Identify which platform you're billed through (check email receipts)
- ✅ Cancel through that specific platform
- ✅ If you have a bundle, decide if you want Hulu/ESPN+ individually
- ✅ Watch downloaded content before cancellation takes effect
- ✅ Note your billing period end date (you keep access until then)
