How to Delete Your Depop Account and Withdraw Your Balance (2026)
Updated February 2026 • 4 min read
✅ Depop is free to use. There is no subscription to cancel. This guide covers deleting your account and withdrawing any remaining seller balance.
Depop is a peer-to-peer fashion marketplace (owned by Etsy since 2021) popular with Gen Z for buying and selling secondhand clothing. There is no monthly fee — Depop takes 10% of each sale. But if you want to leave the platform entirely, here is how to properly close your account.
Before You Delete: Checklist
Withdraw your balance: Go to Selling → Balance → Withdraw. Transfer everything to your bank account. This takes 1-3 business days.
Complete pending orders: Ship any items you have sold but not yet sent. If you delete your account with pending orders, buyers will file disputes.
Handle open disputes: Resolve any open cases before deletion.
Save your data: Screenshot your sales history and reviews if you want to reference them later (for a Poshmark or eBay profile, for example).
How to Delete Your Depop Account
Method 1: In the App
Open the Depop app
Go to Settings (gear icon)
Scroll to Account
Tap Delete Account
Confirm — this is permanent
Method 2: Email
Email support@depop.com
Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
Include your Depop username
They typically process within a few business days
🚨 Account deletion is permanent. Your username, reviews, followers, sales history, and listings will be permanently deleted. You cannot recover them.
Alternative: Just Remove Listings
If you might want to sell again someday, consider removing all your listings instead of deleting your account:
Go to your Shop tab
Delete each listing individually (no bulk delete feature unfortunately)
Your account stays open with your reviews and follower count intact
No fees are charged for having an inactive account
Where to Sell Instead
Leaving Depop? Here are alternatives with different fee structures:
Poshmark: 20% commission (higher than Depop) but larger buyer base for fashion
eBay: ~13% total fees, massive audience, auction option
Facebook Marketplace: No selling fees for local pickup
Vinted: Zero seller fees (buyer pays service fee) — popular in Europe, growing in US
ThredUp: Send a box, they do the work (but keep most of the profit)
💡 Lowest fee option: Vinted charges zero seller fees — the buyer pays a small service fee. If you primarily sell fashion and want to keep more of your earnings, Vinted is worth trying.
