How to Cancel Dashlane in 2026 (And Switch to a Free Password Manager)

Updated February 2026 • 6 min read

Dashlane charges $4.99-8.99/month for a password manager — that's up to $108/year. Meanwhile, Bitwarden is free and open-source, Apple Passwords is built into your devices, and 1Password costs less. When Dashlane killed their desktop app and went browser-only, they lost most of their advantage.

💡 Dashlane's VPN Isn't Worth It

Dashlane Premium includes a "VPN" (rebranded Hotspot Shield). It's a basic VPN with no kill switch, limited server selection, and questionable privacy (Hotspot Shield has had data logging controversies). If you need a VPN, get a real one. Don't let a mediocre bundled VPN justify Dashlane's price.
