Book of the Month (BOTM) is a curated book subscription that sends you one hardcover for $16.99/month. It's one of the more charming subscription services — you pick from 5-7 curated titles, get a hardcover with exclusive BOTM editions, and there's a genuine reading community. But if your "to be read" pile is growing faster than you can read, it's time to cancel.

How to Cancel BOTM

1. Log into bookofthemonth.com
2. Go to Account Settings
3. Click Cancel Membership
4. They'll offer to skip months instead — this is actually a decent option (see below)
5. Confirm cancellation if you want to fully leave

Skip vs. Cancel

BOTM lets you skip any month for free with no penalty. This is genuinely fair — unlike most subscriptions. If you like BOTM but don't want a book every month:

• Skip months freely: No charge, no penalty, skip as many as you want
• You must actively skip by the 6th of each month — if you forget, you're charged
• Set a recurring calendar reminder on the 1st to decide: pick a book or skip
