BeenVerified charges $26.89/month (or $17.48/month on a 3-month plan) for access to public records that are already available for free. If you signed up for a "$1 trial" that auto-renewed, you are not alone — this is the most common people search complaint. Here is how to cancel and how to remove your own data from their database.
BeenVerified's most common complaint is the trial-to-subscription pipeline. You search for someone, see a "Get full report for $1" prompt, enter your card, and a few days later you are on a $26.89/month subscription. If you were charged within the last 7 days of signing up, ask for a refund when you cancel — they sometimes honor it for recent signups.
This is separate from canceling your subscription. To remove your personal information from their database:
Important: This only removes you from BeenVerified. There are dozens of other people search sites (Spokeo, TruthFinder, Whitepages, Intelius, etc.) that have the same data. You need to opt out of each one individually. Services like DeleteMe ($129/year) automate this across 30+ sites.
Everything BeenVerified sells comes from public records you can access yourself:
The data is the same — BeenVerified just aggregates it and charges you for the convenience. For occasional lookups, spending 10 minutes on free sources beats a $27/month subscription.
If BeenVerified charged you after you thought you canceled, or if the trial auto-renewed without clear disclosure, you have options. First, contact BeenVerified support and request a refund. If they refuse, file a chargeback with your credit card company — describe it as an unauthorized recurring charge. You can also file a complaint with the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
Cancel BeenVerified and save $27/month. The data they sell is publicly available for free. While you are at it, opt out of their database to remove your own personal information. People search sites profit from aggregating your data and charging others to see it — you owe them nothing.
