Audible costs $14.95/month ($180/year) for 1 credit per month. That's $15 per audiobook — reasonable for bestsellers, but your library card gets you the same audiobooks for free through Libby and Hoopla. Before you cancel: use your remaining credits, because they disappear when you cancel.
⚠️ Use credits before canceling! Unused Audible credits are forfeited when you cancel. Spend all credits on books first — those books are yours to keep forever, even after cancellation.

- Under Membership, click Cancel membership
- Amazon will show retention offers — evaluate them:
- "Pause for 3 months" — decent if you have a backlog to listen to
- "$9.95/month for 3 months" — good deal if you want to stay at a discount
- If none appeal, click through to confirm cancellation
🚨 Cannot cancel in the Audible app: Amazon deliberately prevents in-app cancellation (on both iOS and Android). You MUST use the website at audible.com. This is a well-known dark pattern.
