Prices scale aggressively with contact count. At 25,000 contacts, Plus jumps to ~$229/month. Many businesses outgrow ActiveCampaign's pricing before they outgrow its features.

Step 1: Export Your Data (Critical)

Everything is deleted when your account closes. Export first:

  1. Export contacts: Contacts → Export → CSV. Include all custom fields and tags
  2. Document automations: Screenshot or document each automation workflow. There's no one-click automation export
  3. Export campaign history: Reports → Campaigns → export performance data
  4. Save email templates: Copy HTML from each template you want to keep
  5. Download forms and landing pages: Save the HTML/CSS of any custom forms
  6. Export deals/pipeline: If using CRM, export deal data

Step 2: Cancel via Support

Method 1: Live Chat (Fastest)

  1. Log in to your ActiveCampaign account
  2. Click the chat icon (bottom right)
  3. Say "I want to cancel my account"
  4. They'll ask why and try retention offers — be firm
  5. Request written confirmation of the cancellation date

  3. Include your account name/URL and request immediate cancellation
